This guide moves a world from another Palworld dedicated server with a matching setup and compatible game version. Transfer the complete world folder so its player files and world data stay together.
A single-player or co-op save may need player ID conversion. Moving between Linux and Windows setups can also affect player IDs. Keep your original save and ask support to check the transfer before using a conversion tool.
Prepare the save
- Stop the source server normally so it finishes saving.
- Download its active world folder from Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0. The next folder is the world ID. Keep an untouched copy.
- Stop your Konnect server and make a backup before replacing its world. If it has never started, run it once to create the save folders, then stop it.
Upload the world
- Use SFTP to upload the complete world ID folder into Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0.
- Check the folder layout. Level.sav and the Players folder should be directly inside the world ID folder, not inside another copy of that folder.
- Open Files > Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/GameUserSettings.ini. Windows or Proton servers use WindowsServer instead.
- Set DedicatedServerName to the uploaded world folder’s name. For example, DedicatedServerName=YOUR_WORLD_ID. Save the file.
- Keep the source world’s WorldOption.sav if it has one. Start the server and check Console.
- Join with an existing player account and check the character, inventory, guild, bases and Pals.
If you load a new world or character
Stop the server and check the folder layout and DedicatedServerName. If the correct world loads but a player gets a new character, do not overwrite the original player files. Ask support to check the player IDs and restore your backup if needed.
Need help with the transfer? Read how to connect with SFTP. For friends on consoles, see Palworld crossplay setup.
