How to Add a Workshop Collection to a GMod Server

Create a Garry’s Mod Workshop collection, find its collection ID and load the addons on your server. Learn when players need separate content downloads.

A Workshop collection lets your GMod server download a group of addons at startup. Player content downloads may need a separate setup.

Create the collection

  1. Sign in to Steam and open the Garry’s Mod Workshop.
  2. Open Collections, choose Create Collection and give it a name.
  3. Add your maps, gamemode and addons, including their required items.
  4. Publish it as public or unlisted. A dedicated server cannot read a private collection.
  5. Copy the number after id= in the collection page URL.

Add it to the server

  1. Open Startup in the Konnect game panel. Set Workshop ID to the numeric collection ID.
  2. Restart the server and watch Console for download errors. Let the first download finish.
  3. Join and check that the expected addons loaded.

Use Workshop ID in Startup for the collection. If the field is unavailable, contact Konnect support. You do not need a Steam Web API key.

Player downloads

Workshop maps and supported Workshop gamemodes can add player downloads automatically. For other content, follow the player downloads guide.

For changing the gamemode, see our gamemode guide. See our Garry’s Mod hosting plans.
