How to Give Players Rust Plugin Permissions with Oxide

Grant and remove Rust Oxide plugin permissions for players or groups. Find the exact permission name and check why a plugin command is still denied.

An Oxide plugin can load correctly but still deny its commands until you grant permission. Get the exact permission name from the plugin’s official page.

Grant a player permission

  1. Open Console in the Konnect game panel while the server is running.
  2. Enter oxide.show perms and confirm that the plugin’s permission is listed.
  3. Enter oxide.grant user STEAMID64 PERMISSION. Replace STEAMID64 with the player’s ID and PERMISSION with the exact permission name.
  4. Enter oxide.show user STEAMID64 to check the result. Ask the player to try the plugin’s command again.

Give a whole group permission

Use oxide.grant group GROUP PERMISSION for an existing group. For example, the default group contains all players. Granting a permission to default gives it to everyone who joins.

Remove access

Use oxide.revoke user STEAMID64 PERMISSION or oxide.revoke group GROUP PERMISSION. A player can still inherit access from a group, so check their groups if the command remains available.

If a permission is missing

Check that the plugin loaded without errors and that its permission name is spelled correctly. See the Rust plugin installation guide if its commands are unavailable.
