How to Install Minecraft Mods

Install individual mods with the Arix Mods browser and keep loaders, versions, and dependencies aligned.

Install individual mods with the Arix Mods browser and keep loaders, versions, and dependencies aligned.

Install a compatible loader first

Use Versions to install Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge for the exact Minecraft release required by the mod. Loader families are not interchangeable, and many mods require libraries such as Fabric API or Architectury.

Browse and install mods

Open Minecraft → Mods. Search for the mod, inspect its supported game versions and loader, then select a compatible file. Installed mods shows items deployed through the panel; manually uploaded JARs may need to be managed in Files.

Mods is separate from Plugins and Modpacks because each follows a different compatibility model.

Verify client and server requirements

  1. Back up and stop the server.
  2. Install required dependencies before the main mod.
  3. Start the server and check Console for missing or wrong-version dependencies.
  4. Install client-required mods on every player’s client using the same versions.
  5. Test a connection and core gameplay before adding more mods.
