ULX is a free admin addon for Garry’s Mod. It needs ULib as well. Panel access does not automatically give you a rank in ULX.
Install both addons
- Add the official ULib item, Workshop ID 557962238, and ULX item, Workshop ID 557962280, to your server’s Workshop collection.
- Check that Startup’s Workshop ID points to that collection.
- Restart the server fully and wait for the addons to load. A map change is not enough after installation.
- Enter ulx help in the panel’s Console. If the command is unknown, check the download and addon loading errors.
Give yourself superadmin
- Join the server in Garry’s Mod.
- Open Console in the Konnect game panel.
- Enter ulx adduser "YourPlayerName" superadmin. Replace YourPlayerName with your name in the game.
- In your game’s developer console, enter ulx menu and check that you can open its admin controls.
If the name matches more than one player, use ulx adduserid STEAM_0:1:123456 superadmin with your own SteamID instead. Enter status in the server Console to find the connected player’s ID. The SteamID in this command uses the STEAM_0: format.
Change a rank later
To change a connected player to admin, enter ulx adduser "PlayerName" admin. To remove their saved rank and return them to the default user group, enter ulx removeuser "PlayerName". Superadmin can change other players’ permissions, so give it only to people who need full control.
