A Holdfast map rotation tells your server which maps and game modes to run. Each entry is a block in the active configuration file.
Open the right configuration
- Open Startup on your Holdfast server and check Config Name. The filename should end in .txt.
- Open Files > holdfastnaw-dedicated/configs and edit that file.
- Find a block starting with !map_rotation start and ending with !map_rotation end.
Add, remove or change a map
- Copy a complete working block to add a map, or remove a complete block to delete one. Keep every start marker paired with an end marker.
- Set map_name to the map you want and game_mode to a compatible mode. Use the exact names from the current Holdfast map and mode lists.
- Change round_time_minutes if you want a different round length. Keep settings specific to that map inside its block.
- Keep global server name, passwords and port settings above the rotation. Check any import lines for settings loaded from another file.
- Save and restart. Join the server and check the map, game mode and round length.
For an event with a different rotation, copy your working config to a new .txt file in configs, edit it and select that filename in Config Name when ready.
Check a rotation that looks wrong
Confirm Config Name points to the file you edited. Check imported configs and the map/mode combination. map_rotation_start_randomise can change the first entry, and map voting can change what players see next.
You can find exact map names in Holdfast’s configuration lists. For F1 login and admin access, read the Holdfast admin guide.
