How to Change Your Game Server Startup Settings

Change the settings used when your game server starts. Find the right Startup field, check that it saved, and restart to apply the change.

Startup holds settings used when your server launches. The fields depend on the game and its server setup. Some settings belong in a configuration file instead.

Change a Startup value

  1. Open your server in the game panel and select Startup.
  2. Find the field named in your game’s guide. Read its description and note the current value.
  3. Enter the new value or choose an available option. Wait for the update to finish and check for an error message.
  4. Reload the page to confirm the new value was saved.
  5. Restart the server, then check Console and test the change in the game.

If the field is missing or locked

A read-only field cannot be changed from your account. Ask the server owner to check your permissions, or contact support if the setting is locked by the server setup. Do not add random options to the startup command.

If a file setting keeps changing back

Startup can override the same setting in a configuration file. If a file edit keeps reverting when your Konnect server starts, change the matching Startup field instead.

Use the file editing guide for settings stored in a file. For Minecraft, see changing the Java version.
