How to Connect to Your Rust Server by IP

Join a Rust server directly with its IP address and game port. Find the right address in the panel and check common connection mistakes.

Join your Rust server directly using the game address in the Konnect game panel.

Find the address

  1. Open your Rust server and wait for it to finish starting.
  2. Copy its public address and game port. Do not use the query or RCON port.
Use Console to check that startup has finished. This panel example shows a different game.

Join from Rust

  1. From Rust’s main menu, press F1 to open the console.
  2. Enter connect ADDRESS:PORT using your server’s address and game port.
  3. Press Enter and wait for the server’s map to load.

If the connection fails

Check the address, port and client/server versions. Use the assigned port, which may differ from 28015. localhost and 127.0.0.1 point to your own computer. Send support the exact disconnect message if you still cannot join.

If direct joining works but the server is absent from the browser, see Rust server browser troubleshooting. See Rust server hosting.
